If you are looking for ski holiday suggestions and would like to discover new ski resorts, we present to you seven different ski resorts in seven different regions of Türkiye!
- Saklıkent Ski Centre – Antalya
We wanted to start our recommendations for domestic skiing holidays with a surprising recommendation. Our first suggestion for a ski holiday is Saklıkent in Antalya! You heard that right, Antalya, which is normally the go-to holiday centre of the summer months, also has options for winter sports. In the Mediterranean region, the mountains are parallel to the sea. For this reason, the slopes of the Taurus Mountains facing Central Anatolia have little to offer for a beach holiday but they are perfect for skiing!
Saklıkent ski complex, built on the northern slope of Bakırlı Mountain in the Beydağları part of the Taurus Mountains, is about a half an hour away from the centre of Antalya. In this region ski season runs for about 120 days between December and April. After a heavy snowfall, the base depth can reach four metres. Saklıkent National Park, where adventurous canyon walks are common in the summer, becomes a desirable location among Türkiye’s ski holiday centres during the winter.
2. Denizli Ski Centre – Denizli
We are here with a new proposal for ski tours during the February holidays! Denizli Ski Centre, which serves the municipality in Bozdağ at an altitude of 2,420 metres, has three separate runs for beginners, intermediates, and experts. The fact that there are track options suitable for three different levels should give your confidence a boost, don’t you think?
In Denizli which is a well-known ski holiday destination, there are two chairlifts that can carry up to 2700 people per hour. There are many different accommodation options in the region which is also famous for its thermal hotels. Both skiing and thermal baths, isn’t that great?
3. Elmadağ Ski Centre – Ankara
Elmadağ Ski Centre, which is located 22 kilometres from Elmadağ Village and takes its name from the mountain on which it is located, is among the popular destinations near Ankara. There are many different accommodation options for those who will travel to the region such as, honeymoon hotels, resorts, and boutique hotels. In the centre, which is open for skiing between January and March, a ski lift with a capacity of 720 people is in service. In addition to the classic ski and snowboard rental options, you can also rent toboggans.
